Street Racing Chaos Ends In Karma As BMW Drivers Crash Right In Front Of Cop
  • A video showing two reckless BMW drivers navigating traffic ends with a dramatic crash.
  • It also happens right in front of an NYPD patrol car sitting on the side of the road.
  • Videos like these have led to the arrest of associated individuals across the nation.

A new video circulating online captures a reckless driving stunt that takes a sudden, destructive turn. Two BMWs, weaving aggressively through traffic in New York, end up crashing into each other — and it all happens right in front of an NYPD cruiser.

});

This kind of driving was somewhat common for a time around New York. Over a year ago, an account called “Slow Benz” was gaining notoriety as it depicted drivers breaking laws, driving recklessly, and taunting NYPD officers. In May of 2024, the person police accused of leading that account, 19-year-old Antonio Ginestri, went to jail. After initially getting out, police arrested him again, this time for charges related to ATM and handbag thefts.

Since then, his account and associated accounts haven’t been nearly as popular. Nevertheless, they’ve remained alive. In one recently highlighted on Reddit, two BMW M3s are cutting up in traffic when the drivers over-estimate their skill level.

As a green car leading the pair swerves across several lanes, it does so directly in the path of the following car. The gap is too small, the brakes can’t slow the car fast enough, and the two collide.

The camera car slams into a barrier and the driver pulls over onto the side of the road. It’s unclear what happens with the green BMW, but it appears to drive away. Regardless, it seems that police won’t have to do much to track down either driver as one officer is sitting on the side of the road with a front-row seat for the crash itself.

Video Reddit

After a little digging, it turns out that this video is one posted by the Slow Benz YouTube account some eight months ago. Entitled “SQUEEZE TEAM TRYOUT GONE WRONG,” it documents even more of the drive in higher quality video.

The reality here is that folks like Ginestri will likely continue to pull stunts like this until the police do enough work to stop them and make a true example out of the people they catch. Other states have made it clear that good detective work can accomplish a lot. In 2022, Carscoops exposed Scott Kitfield, a man posting similar videos online but in California.

A year later, police used a helicopter and ground units to track Kitfield, spotting him at triple-digit speeds. After a brief chase, officers pulled back and allowed the helicopter to follow from above until he eventually stopped. He was arrested on the spot. One year after that, authorities convicted him of fleeing police, reckless driving, and participating in a speed contest.

Seeing as we’ve covered Ginestri and his associates several times, it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see the crew deal with a similar downfall anytime. Hopefully, the NYPD can follow that example and shut these immature folks down before they hurt people.

Stolen Fire Truck Turns Washington Neighborhood Into Demolition Derby
  • Police in Everett, Washington are looking for a person who stole a fire truck on Friday night.
  • The fire truck reportedly hit at least 14 parked cars and some were significantly damaged.
  • The fire truck was also pretty banged up and has been taken out of service.

The Everett Fire Department had an eventful Friday night as they were called to assist with a medical emergency on the fifth floor of an apartment building. Once finished, they returned to Hoyt Avenue to find their fire truck missing.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]};
adpushup.que.push(function() {

}
});

While they were busy responding to the emergency, someone apparently hopped inside and drove the stolen fire engine at high speeds. This caused “significant damage to multiple parked vehicles and landscaping across five locations.”

Shortly after the theft, calls started coming into 911 and the first reported a hit-and-run incident where the fire truck struck two parked vehicles. Just one minute later, another call came in about a fire truck “plowing into ten parked vehicles.”

Everett Police responded and found multiple other crash scenes. In total, 14 parked cars were hit while the fire truck – a 2018 Pierce Enforcer Pumper – “suffered significant damage.” The vehicle is out of service and impounded for evidence, but a reserve unit is now on duty.

The suspect fled on foot and you can see extensive damage, including a Chevrolet Camaro that effectively had its door ripped off. The fire truck also decimated another vehicle, which appears to be an early Lexus RX.

Police are asking for the public’s help in finding the person responsible and Everett Police Chief John DeRousse said, “Losing a fire engine to such a reckless person not only jeopardizes the safety of our first responders, but also puts our community at risk. We are committed to ensuring the safety of our residents, and any information that helps us resolve this incident is crucial.”

Fire Chief Dave DeMarco added, “We are actively reviewing this incident and examining our policies and procedures to see what, if anything, can be done to help prevent such occurrences in the future. We are thankful that no one was injured in this event, and we remain focused on safeguarding our community and our emergency response capabilities.”

Fan Finds Chris Harris’s Stolen Car Before Cops Could Even Finish Their Coffee
  • Former Top Gear host Chris Harris was the victim of auto theft in Bristol overnight.
  • The stolen vehicle was his classic BMW M5, which he’s owned and loved for 19 years.
  • Fans helped track it down within a day, and the car was returned mostly undamaged.

The feelings that come along with being the victim of theft are fierce and wide-ranging. In most cases, victims have little recourse but to let authorities go after the perpetrators. For celebrities, the world works a little differently.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]};
adpushup.que.push(function() {
if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){
adpushup.triggerAd(“0f7e3106-c4d6-4db4-8135-c508879a76f8”);
} else {
adpushup.triggerAd(“82503191-e1d1-435a-874f-9c78a2a54a2f”);
}
});

Take, for example, Chris Harris, the former host of Top Gear and certified car nut. When someone stole his classic E28 BMW M5, he put out the word to fans and they found it faster than the coppers.

More: Thieves Are Using Stolen Toyota Priuses To Hunt Down Land Cruisers

Harris has almost 900,000 followers on Instagram alone. Early this morning (7/21/2025), he informed them that the M5 was stolen in Clifton, Bristol overnight. “Pls share and help me find it. Had it 19 years,” he said. Within roughly three hours of the post, one person claimed they’d spotted it.

A Real-Time Recovery

Harris initially posted an update in real time as he headed toward that fan. “The world’s a mad place, why would you leave it on a residential street,” Harris said, referring to a claim that the stolen car was just sitting there, parked like any other vehicle, out in the open, on the street.

Upon rounding the corner where the M5 sat, Harris simply exclaimed “Look at that, there it is, my M5 up on a paver.” A follower, Lee, found the car, messaged Harris, and told the celebrity that he’d stay with the car til Harris could arrive. Sure enough, that’s exactly what happened.

Not Unscathed, But Intact

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]};
adpushup.que.push(function() {

} else {
adpushup.triggerAd(“9b1169d9-7a89-4971-a77f-1397f7588751”);
}
});

“It’s a bit of a mess, but I’ve got it back and I feel incredibly lucky,” said Harris. He’s speaking about the damage done to the car in the short time it was gone. The thieves curbed one wheel and damaged the ignition to get the car to start. That’s not too bad in a world full of chop shops and black markets that ship cars to far off countries.

Evidently, it didn’t have much fuel in it when they took it and even less when Harris found it. Despite that, he was able to crank it up on camera and confirmed that everything sounded normal. That’s about as good of a result as anyone could ask for, and even more impressive considering that authorities weren’t the ones to figure it out.

Stellantis Shipments To North America Fell Off A Cliff In Q2
  • Stellantis expects a net loss of $2.68 billion during the first half of the year.
  • It attributes this setback to tariffs, higher costs, pre-tax net charges, and more.
  • Second-quarter shipments to North America are down by 25% year over year.

Stellantis has decided to break from the usual script and share a preliminary look at its financial performance for the first half of 2025. This kind of early disclosure isn’t standard practice, and in this case, it’s clearly meant to get ahead of some less-than-rosy analyst expectations.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]};
adpushup.que.push(function() {
if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){
adpushup.triggerAd(“0f7e3106-c4d6-4db4-8135-c508879a76f8”);
} else {
adpushup.triggerAd(“82503191-e1d1-435a-874f-9c78a2a54a2f”);
}
});

As the company puts it, “The disclosure of the following preliminary financial data for the First Half 2025 is intended to address the difference between these analyst consensus forecasts and the Company’s performance for the period.”

More: Hundreds Of Jobs Gone As JLR Grapples With Tariffs And Jaguar’s Sales Collapse

In other words, it sees some analysts’ forecasts and wants to make clear that they probably aren’t very accurate. For example, it expects a $2.7 billion loss on revenue of $86.9 billion over the first half of the year. Over the same period in 2024, it achieved a $6.58 billion profit with $99 billion in revenue.

The automaker blamed that huge deficit on four main issues. Some of it comes down to the company spending in the first half of the year to hopefully provide “larger benefits in the second half of 2025,” it says.

External Pressures and Internal Costs

It also blamed pre-tax net charges, higher industrial costs, geographic and other mix factors, and changes in foreign exchange rates. The really interesting part was that Stellantis openly acknowledged the impact of US tariffs as one of the key factors, as they resulted in a $348 million hit and a loss of planned production. Speaking of production and delivery, the company says U.S. shipments are way down.

 Stellantis Shipments To North America Fell Off A Cliff In Q2

In fact, it’s down by some 109,000 units in Q2 alone compared to the same time in 2024. That’s a 25 percent decline, and it’s only one piece of the puzzle. Stellantis says that year-over-year sales are down 10 percent despite being “relatively flat” in the U.S. To its credit, Ram and Jeep are up 13 percent year over year to this point.

According to Reuters, CEO Antonio Filosa told employees in an email that 2025 would be “a year of gradual and sustainable improvement,” despite a “tough first half, with increasing external headwinds. Despite difficulties, it has also been six months of meaningful progress compared to the second half of 2024.”

} else {
adpushup.triggerAd(“9b1169d9-7a89-4971-a77f-1397f7588751”);
}
});

All of this looks a bit rough right now, but perhaps it’s better than dropping what some might consider to be a bomb on July 29 when full financial results come out. We’ll have to wait till then to see how all the numbers truly shake out.

This Just Might Be The Most Expensive Oops Of The Year
  • A classic Ruf CTR worth around $5 m fell off the back of a car transporter in the US.
  • The 213 mph “Yellowbird” was coming home after being painted by Ruf in Germany.
  • Ruf’s 463 bhp, twin-turbo 911 was the fastest production car in the world when new.

Getting behind the wheel of a 213 mph (343 km/h) Ruf CTR Yellowbird is always going to be exciting, but for one car delivery guy that excitement was of the worst possible kind. That’s because he found himself trapped in the near-vertical 911 after the twin-turbo classic rolled off the back of car transporter.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]};
adpushup.que.push(function() {
if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){
adpushup.triggerAd(“0f7e3106-c4d6-4db4-8135-c508879a76f8”);
} else {
adpushup.triggerAd(“82503191-e1d1-435a-874f-9c78a2a54a2f”);
}
});

The accident reportedly occurred in San Francisco when a rare 1980s CTR was being dropped off having temporarily returned to Ruf’s HQ in Germany for some work. Somehow the car rolled off the back of the car’s upper deck, partially falling from the ramp, which was hoisted around 8 ft (2.4 m) in the air.

Footage circulating on social media shows the CTR stranded, its rear bumper and the exhaust system being the only parts making contact with the ground, and the edge of the ramp pressing into the car’s floorpan, its nose pointing skyward.

“Sitting with a friend when he gets the call that his customer’s RUF yellow bird fell off trailer,” wrote @johnclaywolfeshow, who gave some background to the disaster.

“The guy had just sent car back to Germany (RUF) to have it painted black, makes it all the way back to his home in SF for the driver to forget to block the tires, and this happens.”

Instagram/@johnclaywolfeshow

Ruf built fewer than 30 CTRs out of G-series 911s and they’re now worth between $4-6 million – one sold this spring for $6.06 million. Alois Ruf’s team started with a narrow-body Carrera shell due to its superior aerodynamics and lower weight compared with the wide-arch 911 Turbo body, then slotted a 463 hp (469 PS), 3.4-liter flat-six into the engine bay.

The CTR earned its “Yellowbird” nickname from the color of the press car Road & Track magazine took to 211 mph (340 km/h) in a 1987 test, though not all examples built were yellow. A year later, German magazine Auto Motor und Sport went even faster, clocking 213 mph (343 km/h).

Why Perfectly Good New Corvettes Are Being Cut In Half With A Garage Tool
  • Tornadoes hit the Corvette plant in 2021, leading to widespread destruction of finished cars.
  • GM contracts workers to cut up functioning C8 Corvettes with simple tools like a Sawzall.
  • Reassembled Corvettes are forbidden by GM policy, even if sold back to the original buyer.

Every year, a surprising number of perfectly functional vehicles are quietly taken apart for reasons that have little to do with performance or safety. These cars run, drive, and behave like any other model in showroom-perfect condition, yet they’re sent to facilities where their fate is sealed. One such example is this C8 Corvette, now in pieces, after GM completed its internal use.

In late 2021, a series of tornadoes struck Bowling Green, Kentucky, damaging the Corvette production plant. At the time, it was clear Chevrolet would scrap most of the affected cars, though the exact method remained a mystery. That changed recently when we received photos of the process. And thanks to the man who carried out the dirty work, we now have a clearer picture.

A Job Few Would Envy

That man is Brandon Woodley, a hard working skill-filled guy just following orders. It just so happens that those orders sometimes sound something like “destroy that perfectly functional (and perhaps lightly damaged) Corvette over there, and then do the same to the ten right behind it.” Woodley doesn’t just pull some fuel lines apart or cut a ground cable; he literally saws these cars in half, and it’s all above board.

He tells Carscoops that the entire process can take as little as three minutes. What type of massive industrial cutting tool does the work? “Sawsall with a metal blade,” says Woodley. That’s right, the same tool you probably have in your garage is what professionals use to literally cripple supercars.

Legal Limits Keep These Cars in Pieces

Why couldn’t someone just buy both halves and have a functioning car? “Both halves can be sold to the same person but can’t be put back together legally,” he says. “GM exes out the vins basically, and the car can no longer be sold.”

It’s worth noting that this sort of intentional destruction isn’t all that uncommon. Automakers often build test mules for all sorts of reasons that don’t involve a tornado. They have to have cars for everyday testing, they need to practice production on cars that won’t end up in customers’ hands, and some cars end up as crash-test vehicles. That enables an automaker to ensure there aren’t issues on the production line, during real-world testing, or in real-world crashes.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]};

}
});

Built to Be Destroyed

The kicker is that these cars rarely have VIN numbers, so they’re not street legal anyway. As such, they are often born with their ultimate fate already sealed. That’s similar to what we see here: the untimely but inevitable fate of some great sports cars that died so that production versions could live. That all said, we did reach out to Chevrolet to confirm some additional details about these cars and others like them.

While we wait for answers, we asked what you would do with these broken-up pieces aside from trying to put them back together. Some commenters had some great answers. “Turn it into a BBQ,” said one. “That would make a great trailer for towing behind a C8 Corvette,” said another. Well, we hear you and these are great ideas, but we’re sure you’ll have more.

This GR Corolla Went From Chasing A 911 To Going Up In Flames
  • A Toyota GR Corolla driver shared a video of his car catching fire on track.
  • The AWD hot hatch lost control approaching a turn and burst into flames.
  • Its overheated turbo engine may have spilled oil onto the road and tire.

Even accounting for the wider range of driver abilities, track days are far less dangerous than real racing. However, they still have the potential to leave your car a smouldering wreck and you tens of thousands of dollars out of pocket. Just ask the owner of this GR Corolla, who watched his car go up in smoke and ended the day with a scorched shell.

The GR Corolla driver, who goes by the name of @gogomorizo on Instagram, used to be the proud owner of a tastefully modified example of Toyota’s hot hatch. But a shocking accident destroyed the car, and those who have seen the video are arguing over whether the car or the driver is to blame.

A Seemingly Perfect Lap Goes South

In-car footage from a helmet-mounted camera shows the driver chasing a Porsche 911 as he carves through some corners at a track day. The sky is clear, and the track surface is bone dry. The conditions look perfect, and as safe as they can get. But seconds later, it’s game over for the GR.

On the approach to a fairly tight right-hander, the Corolla’s back end suddenly steps out to the right, sending it off the track and straight into a tire wall. The airbags fire, and pretty soon there’s real fire, too, one that the marshals have to put out. Fortunately, the driver walked away unharmed, but the car is a mess, and like most track day drivers who cross their fingers and hope for the best, he wasn’t insured.

 This GR Corolla Went From Chasing A 911 To Going Up In Flames

@gogomorizo

Oil, Heat, and a Costly Chain Reaction

The accident happened near the end of the driver’s first session, so the oil was hot, and it looks like the Corolla just couldn’t take the heat. The 300 hp (304 PS) three-cylinder engine appears to have grenaded itself on the approach to the right-hander, throwing oil onto the track where it made contact with the rear tires, sending the rear axle sideways. The escaped hot oil in the engine bay soon catches alight, and it’s goodbye GR Corolla.

The driver graciously admits he’s still learning the art of track days, and not just the driving element, but also the preparation and observation of the way the car is behaving. And it’s easy to say from behind a phone or laptop that he should have noticed the low oil pressure and coasted past the turn with the clutch pedal down. But things are different when you’re having fun, caught in the moment, trying to reel in a 911.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]};

}
});

It’s a rough outcome, but judging by the driver’s attitude, it likely won’t be his last lap. He may be licking his wounds for now, but it sounds like he’ll be back behind the wheel before long, and it’s hard not to respect that.

What you see here is a true labor of love, a combination of old parts with modern engineering that resulted in a stunning plaything. It just happens to also be a great way for both young and old to enjoy motoring, provided one has the space to use it. Oh, and they’ll need some extra cash lying around because this Shelby Cobra-style go-kart just traded hands for almost $10,000.

Sold over on Bring A Trailer to the high bidder for $9,800, this is far more than a cheap replica. According to the seller, the fiberglass body is actually from the 1960s. They bought that shell sometime in 2023 and began refurbishing it. Now, two years later, they’ve not only finished the project but moved on entirely. For nearly $10k, we can’t really blame them.

When the seller found the body, it had the cracks and disrepair one might expect from something half a century old. They mended those issues and refinished the paint in the blue hue you see here. Then, they added other touches, like the wraparound plexiglass windshield, the chrome surround, and the twist-off fuel cap in the rear. The body also features faux side pipes, functional trunk and hood lids, working lights, and a hood scoop.

Under the bodywork, you’ll find a custom-built steel frame and running gear that might be more impressive than the body. A 440cc (0.4-liter) DuroMax OHV single piston engine with a centrifugal clutch sends its power to the rear wheels.

The engine reportedly makes 18 horsepower (13 kW), which isn’t much, but it’s on the high side of what the average kart makes. The kart uses Wilwood parts, including a brake pedal adjuster and a master cylinder, along with cross-drilled disc brakes to slow down. On top of all these excellent features, the cabin is a treat as well.

It benefits from faux ostrich skin upholstery, black carpet, and matching pedals. While this is a one-seater, it’s worth noting that short adults can fit in it. That said, we can’t think of a better way to get junior into cars than something like this.

Somebody Just Bid $70K On A Burned Dodge That Looks Like It Drove Through Hell
  • Somebody’s rare delivery-mileage Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 burned up.
  • Despite heavy damage to the entire exterior of the car it still runs and drives.
  • As of this writing, at least one bidder is willing to pay $70,500 for the charred car.

In the world of high-powered muscle cars, few vehicles have caused as much of a stir as the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 did in late 2022 and early 2023. With performance figures that bordered on absurd, it quickly became a must-have for collectors and enthusiasts alike.

});

If cars like the Hellcat and original Demon were wild, the Demon 170 was certifiably insane. Naturally, many were snapped up and tucked away, preserved as prized possessions. At least one owner, though, wasn’t quite so lucky.

The car you see here is at a salvage auction and is going to sell for tens of thousands. That’s impressive considering the extensive fire damage which is visible on every single panel. The rear quarter panels are by far in the best shape of them all, as the paint is at least somewhat visible. The rear tail lights appear intact as well, in contrast to the front ones are nowhere to be seen. The roof and glass all appear to be in fine shape. What’s really shocking is the cabin, though.

Many surfaces still have the plastic from the Dodge factory on them. That includes the front seat, the steering wheel, and the gear shift. Based on the limited viewing angles we have, it seems as though the fire didn’t damage the cabin at all.

Perhaps most importantly, though, this car runs and ‘drives’ according to the auction house. A photo of the engine compartment shows that it looks almost identical to any other Demon 170 bay. It’s far from perfect, but the flames didn’t do much visible damage at all.

As of this writing, the high bid is $70,500, which is around half of what the MSRP would’ve been on this car when it was new. Considering that it has just 16 miles on the odometer, we can see the value in turning this already charred car into a truly mad creation. Maybe we’ll see it pop up on a YouTube channel sooner rather than later.

This Buyer Got A Street-Legal Lordstown Endurance And A Lifetime Of Regret
  • Lordstown only produced 31 trucks before going bankrupt and shutting down operations.
  • One unit recently sold at auction for just $22,750 with only 1,600 miles on the odometer.
  • Unlike others, this specific truck comes with an official title making it legally roadworthy.

Plenty of automotive startups launch with big ambitions, but few ever reach the point of delivering an actual vehicle. Lordstown was one of the rare exceptions, albeit briefly. The company did make it to production, but only managed to build 31 units before shutting down.

var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:[]};
adpushup.que.push(function() {
if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){

}
});

This Endurance pickup is one of those few and, reportedly, the only one that was ever issued a proper title. It just sold at auction for about the price of a new Nissan Versa.

On paper, the Endurance was an intriguing truck. It features in-hub electric motors at each wheel and offers a combined 440 horsepower and 479 lb-ft of torque. It leveraged a 109 kWh battery pack and had an EPA estimated range of 174 miles. That’s not very far, but this truck is capable of DC fast charging, which seemed like a potential saving grace.

Despite all that, Lordstown could never get itself together as a company and at one point, it might have accidentally sold itself to Foxconn at a huge discount. Things didn’t go well in the end, but this truck did manage to sneak out. Vitally, this one has a real Michigan title, which is something we’ve never seen before, with other Lordstown trucks being sold with bills of sale.

A Rare Truck You Can Actually Register

Having a title means the guy who just bought this one for a cool $22,500 can actually drive it around wherever he wants. Sure, it doesn’t have stellar range, and sure, he’ll never get any support from the defunct company when something breaks. But he just paid less than what Slate advertises for its hopeful and very bare bones trucklet.

Still, it’s a reasonable price for a functioning slice of electric vehicle history, assuming, of course, that nothing goes wrong or breaks. And that’s a big assumption. Because if it does, well, good luck to everyone involved.

} else {

}
});

The buyer says that they were a major Lordstown shareholder, so owning the truck, the only one on public roads, is a personal win after being let down so hard by the brand itself. Keep your eyes peeled next time you’re at a Cars and Coffee. If this thing rolls by, you’ll know exactly where it came from.
